How to Recharge Your Batteries by taking Breaks
Do you feel overwhelmed sometimes? When you watch self-improving content, you hear all about working hard, the hustle, the grind. You take their advice and work hard to get success in your working life. You may be a student or a working professional. But sometimes you feel like losing your spark. When you feel something draining and you feel like you have had enough, it's ok to take a break.
One of my idol quotes is "If you are tired and feel exhausted, learn to take a rest. Not to quit. The most accurate way to work efficiently with full productivity is to take rest or breaks in our work life. Whether it may be a short break for daily working life or a little longer break during a long working period.
There are various things regarding this issue on the internet. First of all, we have to notice that do we complete our work with proper consistency? Or are we distracted while doing our other work? For example: if you're studying or working continuously you must take a break after 20 minutes of working or studying. Which have been scientifically proved. "20 minutes work and 10 minutes break". This method actually helps you to stay consistent during your work period. This method can be applied to any working individual. Few problems can arise within these 10 minutes. Let me explain how. What will you do in this 10-minute break? Will you scroll Instagram? Or will you call someone for a time pass? You should take a break to energize yourself and reduce the stress level of work. But if you scroll Instagram or approach someone on a phone call will that give you energy? Absolutely not.
So here are some tips to utilize those 10 minutes.
● take a walk on the roof or the balcony-
This is the best way to freshen your mind and it will help you to fill your mind with motivation.
● Meditate- Meditation is the best way to concentrate again on the work. If you do this then it will help you a lot in your studies. If you're especially a student, then it will help you to boost your memory to the next level after regularly practicing this.
Take a little longer break.
Suppose you worked all through the year and on the new year's occasion you are sitting on a couch and watching T.V. and then after the occasion, you begin to start the old schedule. Ask yourself honestly, do you feel OK? Can you feel the new energy after getting back to do your work? I know you can't. It's because you didn't utilize your break period.
Here are some tips to enjoy and re-energize yourself during a long break.
● Go somewhere you've never been before.
● If you stay away from your home and family members, then go to them. Talk to them about your working life and plan a beautiful lunch or dinner together.
● You may plan to visit new places with your family members. Or with your friends.
● Do something that makes you happy and feels good.
Just go and travel. Have fun. And take a break from each and every tension.
It's not mandatory to take a break on any occasion. You may take a leave and take some rest or hang around a new place that will fill you with lots of energy and positivity.
When you're feeling exhausted and you feel like you have had enough, it's okay to take a break. And feel self-awareness at that point in your life.
Taking a break actually helps. You will come back feeling more energized, creative, passionate. And with a new perspective, you might even get the breakthrough you needed and desired.
It is actually unsustainable to be hustling 24/7. Something amazing happens when you take the time off. You're so used to working that you might not realize how tired you might be. If you don't take a break, you can't work properly with full productivity.
So, if you're feeling Burned out or mentally drained from work, take a break which will help you to come back with a new fresh perspective.
